…Where is He that is born king of the jews?… Matt. 2:2
1.Long Long ago, so the story is told
A man was born to be King,(1)
He had no throne – Nor a crown of gold
But His palace was only an inn.
He worked as a carpenter most of the life (1)
A working class home, you could say
He ware no fine clothes
And He did’t live in style
What sort of a king could He be!
Cho : Yet He died on the cross
And was sealed in a tomb
And He says – That He did it for me
For the stone rolled away
And He rose from the grave
What sort of a king could He be!
2. Man was living – In darkness and sin (1)
And turned his back upon God
Death was the wage- He earned for himself (1)
The path He has tread(1)
But God loved the world – That He gave His only Son (1)
To pay the price for our sins
His only crown – Was a crown of thorns
What sort of a king could He be! ll Yet II
3. Down through the years – As the story is told
The question cannot be denied
How could a man – Was born to be king
Be nailed to the cross, crucified
How could His Fo-llowers leave Him to die
A death of such agony?
His death is a way – To the kingdom of God
What sort of a king could He be! (2) || Yet II
